Q : What is an unlock code for blackberry?
A : When your BlackBerry is locked to a specific network provider you can’t use another SIM card from another network provider. When trying to insert a new SIM your handset will display an error message: “SIM not accepted”, “Phone restricted”, “SIM not valid” or “Enter unlock/subsidy code”. An unlock code is a unique and genuine number each BlackBerry has that is specific only to that BlackBerry (identifiable by IMEI). That code will instantly unlock your handset and you will be able to use your BlackBerry with any network provider worldwide.
Q : How does the remote unlocking work?
A : You just have to send us the IMEI of your phone (don’t worry, that’s completely safe) so that we can search for the unlocking code of your handset (each phone has its own specific code). Once we find your code, we will send it to you by email with a complete set of instructions. You just have to enter the unlocking code on your phone and your BlackBerry will be unlocked. As simple as that!
Q : Is it safe to unlock my BlackBerry?
A : Yes, unlocking your phone will not harm your phone, nor will it void your warranty.
Q : How to find imei and what is MEP?
A : There are two ways to find the IMEI of your BlackBerry. First, on the back of your phone, underneath the battery, there is a small label with the IMEI of your phone (15 to 17 digits). Or, you can simply dial *#06# on your phone and the IMEI will be displayed on your handset screen.
MEP is an 8 digit number that identifies the current network provider on your phone (ex: MEP-04104-003). We use this number together with IMEI to calculate an unique unlock code for your BlackBerry. We need this number to guarantee that the code you receive will work 100% of the time.
With some network providers your actual MEP might be different from the number your carrier usually uses. That is why we need to receive MEP number from you. It will also guarantee that the unlock code you receive will work 100%. Please follow the steps in this link to know more about MEP and imei.
Q : How do I receive the unlock code?
A : You will receive the unlock code by email. You have to insert the code on your phone. That’s a very simple process. You can read instruction here
